Camping de Rouergue is well sign-posted in the town [albeit as CAMPING STADE] but if you miss the signs, the D47 Monteils/Najac road from the town centre passes the stadium/campsite complex in the southwest suburbs of Villefranche de Rouergue.

Whatever accommodation you choose - your own tent, motor home, caravan, camper van (service area at the barrier), rental of a caravan or a mobile home or a canvas bungalow - you will enjoy comfort and security.
A gentle 20 minute stroll by the river brings you to the town centre where a Thursday morning market is held in the Place Notre Dame outside the Collégiale Notre Dame Church, and an InterMarché and a Centre LeClerc SuperMarché are less than 5 minutes drive away on the Avenue du Quercy. For more immediate needs, the camp shop provides bread (order it the day before), wine, newspapers and locally-produced conserves. The campsite is the terminus of a tourist road train which regularly runs into the town and back for those seeking an alternative to driving or walking, and there are mountain bikes for hire if you want to explore. Camping de Rouergue is a very convenient centre for exploring the western edge of the Aveyron.
The sanitation block is a credit to the site. It is modern, light, airy, well-lit and spotlessly clean, with plenty of showers and WC and handbasin cubicles for all. There are sinks for the washing-up and for lingerie. There is copious hot water throughout. Baby-changing facilities and access for the disabled are provided, and there is a communal lounge with television and table tennis on the upper floor.
The waste bins at Camping Rouergue are emptied daily, pitches are mown when vacated if necessary, and the whole site is refreshingly clean, tidy and kept in first-class order. There are very few notices about what to do and what not to do, as the site's clientele know what is expected of them, which all goes to enhance the pleasure of a stay in this pleasant part of the Aveyron.
Pets are accepted but dogs must be kept on a lead and diligence applied to their presence.

Your hosts, Bruno Becquet and his wife Patricia, are very enthusiastic about ensuring you enjoy your stay at Camping Rouergue. They live on site, above the Reception, and will readily make themselves available outside hours if need be. Their commitment is obvious from the condition of the site and they always seem to be occupied with keeping it pristine.
They operate a small buffet bar, and at least once a week they hold an open evening for their visitors whereby they can all get to know each other over an evening meal at a quite modest cost with a glass of wine included for good measure. Conviviality and good humour are the order of the day at this campsite.
Both are mines of information about places to go and what to look for, and their knowledge is at your disposal. They maintain a small library of light reading (French and English) in the Reception, and there is a petanque area behind the buffet bar. Access to the small campsite swimming pool is free for enjoyment by young and old.
Camping de Rouergue will suit beginners to camping as well as veterans who know the ropes.
For the information of Catholics, Mass is offered in the Collegiale at 9 a.m. on Sunday mornings.
The Bengalis at Camping Rouergue are much more substantial than tents and can accommodate up to 5 people in 2 rooms which contain between them a double bed, a single bed and twin singles as bunks. They have a kitchen area, a fridge, a heater, a hanging wardrobe, crockery, cutlery, a table and 5 patio armchairs.
The caravans at Camping Rouergue are fitted out with the needs of up to 4 people, but in common with the Bengalis they do not contain showers or toilets, which are available in the sanitation block. The awnings are already erected, and there is patio style furniture for your comfort.
The mobile homes at Camping Rouergue can accommodate 4 to 6 people in two bedrooms featuring a double bed and twin singles. There is a fitted kitchen, a lounge and dining corner, and they benefit from a bathroom and WC. They also have a raised decking area and a large parasol sunshade with patio furniture.
